Polyrhachis Armata–Spiny Hook Ant - Intermediate
The Armata is first noticeable by their long and sprawled legs, they almost look like a spider at first glance. They are very fast too, getting a picture was not easy.
Being highly aggressive, incredibly large and arboreal they are a delight to keep. Although slow growing, patience will prevail as they use larvae to weave their nests on the underside of canopy leaves in the jungle.
Being a big species their “riot gear” look has a certain charm and appeal.
As with all polyrhachis species, keep some good escape prevention as they are incredibly “sticky” which is a trait for climbing leaves and trees.
