The fearless hunter
This species currently does not have a care sheet or guide – you can however see the information we have below.
Your colony will include at least the number of queen you order as wingless queens. There may be one or more winged queens that are not counted as the part of the queens purchased
Bicarinatum are fantastic for keepers looking for a fast growing, big brood pile, inbreeding colony. They are fearless and have no issue in the wild when swarming prey and creating trails to sources of food. Teamwork and recruitment are key elements as they drag items back to their nest.
Being inbreeding these queens do not require a nuptial with other colonies to produce new queens. Although it does also happen as a flight (it is crucial to the gene pool). Your colony, with care can easily frow to tens of queens with ease.
As a small species (although larger than Monomorium) they are easier to see and observe without taking up vast amounts of space.
Good escape prevention will be needed, this is a small species of ant that will exploit any gap in the barrier.
